The QCQSE-Chile is envisioned as a satellite workshop of the JCC, aimed at strengthening the community in quantum computing and quantum software engineering in Chile, with a broad invitation to researchers, students and industry. The event will address the field from an engineering perspective, emphasizing design and implementation of solutions, tools, verification/validation, reproducibility and experimental evaluation. Contributions that explore potential, limitations and maturation paths of quantum-classical approaches will be promoted, without assuming quantum advantage in the current state, but driving comparable, transparent and reusable results.

The differentiating value of the workshop is its engineering approach. Besides presenting topics and research lines, it seeks to discuss how to build reliable and reusable quantum software to discuss aspects such as: modeling, architectures, toolchains, testing, verification/validation, quality, metrics and benchmarks, and how to transparently evaluate results against classical alternatives and hybrid approximations.

Even though the invitation to collaborate is broad, the workshop prioritizes contribution and discussions from an engineering perspective: practices, tools, processes and evaluation criteria to develop, maintain and validate quantum software and hybrid solutions, with emphasis on reproducibility, traceability and performance measurement.

Call for papers

Quantum computing and quantum software engineering are opening new challenges and and opportunities for current computing. This workshop, within the framework of JCC 2026, invites researchers, academics, students and professionals to share ideas, results and experiences around the devlopment of software, algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical systems. As one of the first initiatives of this type in Chile, seeks to generate a meeting space to boost community, collaboration and discussion in an area of growing projection. We invite to submit proposals for the Chilean Workshop on Quantum Computing and Quantum Software Engineering (QCQSE-Chile), to be held within the framework of JCC 2026 in Talca, University of Talca.

Topics of interest:
  • Quantum algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical approaches (formulation, implementation, evaluation and application).
  • Quantum architectures and execution models; noise and its impact on results.
  • Error mitigation and practical strategies for experimentation.
  • Compilation, optimization and mapping to hardware.
  • Quantum security and cryptography.
  • Quantum software engineering.
  • Toolchains, frameworks and development environments.
  • Modeling and representation of quantum-classical systems.
  • Architectures of hybrid systems.
