This Workshop aims to bring together researchers and professionals interested in extended reality, video games, simulators and interactive technologies applied to various contexts such as education, heritage, health and tourism. The goal is to foster the exchange of experiences, scientific advances and technological developments, promoting interdisciplinary collaborations and the strengthening of this emerging field in Chile and Latin America.
This Workshop will provide an environment to discuss:
The II Workshop on Extended Reality and Videogames will be held within the framework of the JCC 2026 and aims to bring together researchers, developers and professionals interested in the study and development of interactive software, immersive technologies and videogames. The extended reality (XR) technologies —including virtual, augmented and mixed reality— along with videogames and other forms of digital interaction, have experienced significant growth in recent years. These technologies not only represent important advances in the field of entertainment, but are also generating new research and application opportunities in areas such as education, cultural heritage, health, tourism, professional training and human-computer interaction. This workshop seeks to create an interdisciplinary space to present scientific advances, discuss new methodologies and share experiences in the design, development and evaluation of applications based on XR, videogames and simulation.
We invite the academic community, graduate students and professionals in the field to submit contributions related to, but not limited to, the following topics:
The workshop seeks to promote the exchange of ideas, foster collaboration between researchers and strengthen the scientific community interested in these emerging technologies.
